Earn CPD points at ITSM BrightTALK™ Summits

BrightTALK

The most frequent request we receive at BrightTALK™ is for receiving continuing professional development credits after viewing relevant content. We took note and are increasing the number of webinars that qualify for CPD/CPE/CLE credits as part of professional development accreditation programs.

BrightTALK is pleased to announce an agreement with the priSM Institute® that enables BrightTALK subscribers to earn CPD points by attending the many different BrightTALK™ Summits offered monthly in the service management community.

“What a great opportunity for the priSM® credential holder! The BrightTALK Summits are diverse and professionally delivered. They offer all credential holders the opportunities to stay current or catch up on the latest developments. For those credential holders who are remotely located, it is a great way to earn CPDs toward the annual requirement.”

Jay Stuart, President, Global priSM Institute

How will it work?

As a priSM credential holder and BrightTALK subscriber you will be eligible to receive 1 credit for a webcast watched up to 1 hour. You simply submit your claim directly to priSM and they will confirm your attendance with BrightTALK to approve your CPD credit. You can review webinars that are CPD approved here: http://www.brighttalk.com/community/it-service-management/summits

In the current economic climate, CPD is becoming increasingly important as a way of ensuring that your skills as an employee are formally recognized. Since priSM launched, the value of the priSM® credential has consistently increased with growing numbers of practitioners and organizations embracing the program. CPD attracts professionals who are keen to stay at the forefront of their industry, keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and trends. With a huge variety of CPD courses and qualifications in service management, priSM is a great tool to acknowledge your training and experience internationally showing your career progression within the IT service management industry.

I wish to know: Is it possible to claim CPE points for CISSP by listening to webcasts in brighttalk site? If yes, then do you provide CPE certificate through email or can we print it from your website? Please email me the procedure. Thanks.

Hi,

Currently it isn't possible to claim CPE points for CISSP, although this is something we are actively looking into.

At the moment, those claiming CPD points in our IT service management community can submit their points by contacting priSM. priSM will send certification once it has been confirmed with BrightTALK that the individual has viewed content. Here are the top 5 ITSM webinars for last year: http://blog.brighttalk.com/home/2011/12/19/top-five-it-service-management-webinars-of-2011.html

When additional CPD/CPE schemes are confirmed, they will be announced on the blog. In the meantime, feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Many thanks,

Katrina

Hi Ian,

You need to place you claim directly to priSM. This link should help: http://www.theprisminstitute.org/Global_priSM_I/Applying_to_priSM.html

priSM will contact BrightTALK to confirm whether CPD accredited webinars have been viewed.

Do let me know if you have any further questions.

Many thanks,

Katrina

Hi Anand,

Thank you for your message.

Webinars are listed in the priSM handbook on page 30 and 31, here: http://www.theprisminstitute.org/Global_priSM_I/Applying_to_priSM_files/12_prisM_Handbook_v61.pdf

I believe that to claim these, you need to include them on your submission form, here: http://www.theprisminstitute.org/Global_priSM_I/Applying_to_priSM.html. The form includes a section for lectures and itSMF webinars. I would suggest contacting priSM to confirm what BrightTALK webinars should be listed under.

Their email address, depending on your location is:

 Americas – admin‐americas@theprisminstitute.org
 EMEA – admin‐emea@theprisminstitute.org
 Asia Pacific – admin‐americas@theprisminstitute.org (until the AP region is formalized)
 Global – admin‐global@theprisminstitue.org

I hope this has helped.

Many thanks,

Katrina

Hi Katrina,

Since leaving my last job, I have lost my records for attendance on the webinars. If I forward my contact details to you, are you able to provide me with a list of webinars I have attended so I can claim my CPDs?

Regards, Mike

Hi Sean,

At the moment only our IT service management summits are CPD approved by priSM. However, we are looking at implementing this throughout our technology summits.

Many thanks,
